Three devices. One standard: proven in the clinic.
Neuromodulation for drug-resistant epilepsy, objective seizure monitoring, and continuous Parkinson's symptom recording.
VNS Therapy
Around one in three people with epilepsy continue to have seizures despite medication. For this group, Vagus Nerve Stimulation is a well-tested, long-term neuromodulation treatment. The implanted generator sends regular electrical impulses through the vagus nerve to the brain, much like a pacemaker, with the goal of preventing seizures, reducing their intensity and shortening recovery.
The current generator, SenTiva, adds scheduled titration, day-and-night programming and long-term trend data, so clinics can reach target therapy with fewer office visits.
Nelli
Self-reported seizure diaries are unreliable. Post-ictal unawareness, nocturnal seizures and missing visual information mean that around 30% of epilepsy patients carry an incorrect diagnosis. Video EEG is the gold standard, but capacity is limited and waiting times are long.
Nelli, developed by Neuro Event Labs, is a camera-based monitoring system that detects and classifies seizures from video and audio, at home or in hospital, without wearables. Clinical data shows it can accurately identify seizures with a positive motor component and assess myoclonus severity.
PDMonitor
Parkinson's symptoms vary widely between patients and across the day, which makes personalised medication hard to get right from rating scales and diaries alone.
PDMonitor, from PD Neurotechnology, is a wearable sensor system that records motor symptoms continuously while the patient goes about their daily life. The physician gets an objective picture of the patient's state, and the information needed to make targeted therapeutic changes.
